Cass: I was at your parents' wedding, your Dad was best man at my parents' wedding, and your Dad was my Godfather. You may remember my mother, Theda, who your folks would take to dinner every year. They'd drive down from White Plains to Summit, NJ and see her. We moved Mom to live closer to us near Elmira, NY several years ago and she died a few months later at age 95. When she moved I called your folks in the Keys and spoke to your Dad. Just by chance I saw your Mom's obit in today's NY Times, which we get every Sunday. I always do a quick scan of the obit page just to see if anyone I know either personally or because they're famous might appear, and there she was. They visited us in Philadelphia when I was in my early teens and your brother Bobby came along. My wife and I attended a big birthday celebration for your grandmother in the Norfolk area. I recall your Mom smoking a pipe. We all loved her to death - a real character and a great match for your Dad. I've always bragged that my Godfather built the "new" Newark Airport.
