Born in Ginetes, Sao Miguel Portugal, he was the son of the late Francisco d’Assis Ferraz Bettencourt Leca and Maria (Furtado) Leca.
Educated in Portugal, Armando immigrated to the United States in October of 1968. He worked for the United States Airforce for 22 years before coming to America. He then worked for the Acushnet Company in the golf ball division for two years and then for twenty two years at Coaters Inc. Leather until his retirement.
Armando enjoyed carpentry, fishing, but most of all spending time with his beloved family.
Survivors in addition to his wife are three children; Maria Medeiros and her husband Manuel of New Bedford, Leonor Donaghy and her husband Daniel of New Bedford, Armando G. Leca and his wife Ann Rodrigues-Leca of North Dartmouth, a brother, Alberto Reis Leca of Sao Miguel Portugal, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Emanuel Leca, and his brother Eduardo Leca.
