Elodia was born in Zacatecas, Mexico to Manuel Arellano Acosta and Maria Guadalupe de la Torre on October 29, 1932. She married Albino Villarreal in Zacatecas, Mexico. Mom was widowed at the young age of 42, in July 1974 and never remarried. She worked up to 3 jobs at times, house cleaning and as a seamstress to make sure her 9 children were taken care of and provide a home with meals for her 7 children that remained at home. She was THE BEST Mom and Grandmother anyone could only dream of. The way her face lit up, every time one of us walked in the room was priceless and heartwarming. She adored her family. The one thing Mom repeated, after she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, was that she was sad that one day, she would leave her family behind. She knew she wouldn’t see us again. She repeated that she would be OK in Heaven, resting with our Heavenly Father, but would miss us.
Mom left a legacy behind of 90 - 9 children, 34 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. She was our Family Rock. The glue that held us all together.
Elodia is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albino; sisters Indalesia, and Consuelo; her Mom and Dad - Maria Guadalupe, and Manuel.
Elodia is survived by her children - Juan, Rosalba, Benjamin, Raul, Dora, Elodia, Hortensia, Elva, and Imelda. As well as her 34 Grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren.
