

Born, October 23, 1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas, Judy was the daughter of the late Charles and Faith Storey. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa in 1962 and graduated from Drake University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Education degree in elementary education.
Judy taught elementary education in Palmyra and Janesville, Wisconsin and later In Sioux City and Ottumwa, Iowa and ended her teaching career in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. It was in Wisconsin that Judy earned her Master Degree in Education at the University of Wisconsin in 1993 specializing in Early Childhood Education where she was instrumental in the establishment of the Early Learning Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Judy was selected Elementary Teacher of the Year in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1995.
Judy was a member of the UCC Congregational Church in Sanibel Island, Florida as well as an associate member of the First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
Judy was very civic minded with involvement in a number of organizations. Judy was a long time service member of the P. E. o. where she was a member for over 50 years in addition being a past president. She was an active member of the Sheboygan Service Club serving as past president as well in charge of one of their annual fund raising shows. Judy was an active docent at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Judy also served on the Sheboygan Symphony board of directors and the Sheboygan Lutheran High School board as well as the Trinity Lutheran School board. In addition, Judy served on the State board of the Children's Service Society being a past president of the local board.
Judy married her husband, Eldon on April 2, 1966. She is survived by her husband, Eldon and her daughter, Heather of Sanibel Island, Florida and son, Peter (Christin) and two grandchildren, Carter and Elise of Fairfield Township, Ohio. Judy is survived by her sister, Jane Palmer (Jim) of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and two nieces, Amy (David) Messinger of Beverly Hills, California and Stephanie Palmer of Los Angeles, California. Judy was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Faith Storey.
Judy loved being with her friends and enjoyed spending time with them while playing golf and bridge. Judy was a gracious host and loved entertaining her family and friends in a variety of ways. Her creative talents ranged from needlepointing, interior decorating and cooking. Judy loved traveling and had the great pleasure of experiencing many cultures around the world with Eldon, her family and friends. Judy found great joy in teaching, spending time with children, walking the beach and shelling.
However her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren remember her thoughtfulness, loving kindness and illuminating spirit. They love her dearly and will be inspired each day by the life she lived. Her husband Eldon was privileged to have her
as his best friend and true companion in love throughout their marriage. She will truly be missed by her husband Eldon, her family and friends.
Her family wishes to thank their many friends for kindness and prayers which have been given during the course of years. They give a special thank you for the staff at the second floor of the Pavilion at Shell Point for the loving care given Judy.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to suggest memorial gifts to the UCC Congregational Church in Sanibel Island, Florida or the Shell Point Retirement Village for the Memory Care Unit or John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. We would suggest designating any memorial gifts to be in the honor of Judy Bohrofen.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, February 23, Friday at the UCC Congregational Church in Sanibel Island, Florida.
In addition there will be a celebration of Judy's life at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on April 7, 2018 at 4:30 PM.
