Preston - Sandra (Sandy) Koozmitch, 66, wife of William Koozmitch, Sr., passed away peacefully Sunday, April 18, 2021, at her childhood home with her loving husband by her side.

Born on June 29, 1954, in Norwich, she was the daughter to the late Caesar and Irene (Kelly) Lebuis.

On August 1, 1981, she was united in marriage to William Koozmitch, Sr. at St James Episcopal Church in Poquetanuck by Rev. David Canon.

Sandy was a 1972 graduate of Norwich Free Academy. After high school, Sandy worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Maurice Goldblatt for many years. She then worked for ShopRite of Norwich where she was a department manager and more recently in the ShopRite Pharmacy in Norwich and New London as a pharmacy technician.

Sandy enjoyed spending time with family, travelling to various locations including Walt Disney World and attending the Daytona 500, as well as taking daytrips around New England with her husband.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a brother, Thomas Lebuis, Sr. of Cleveland, GA; a sister, Karen Grandchamp and her husband Jeffrey of Preston; nephews Thomas Lebuis, Jr. and Jason Lebuis, and a great-niece Kaitlee Lebuis, all of Cleveland, GA.

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by a brother, Michael Lebuis, and sister-in-law Rita Lebuis.

Family and friends may visit Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich on Wednesday April 28th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
