

Nick was born on December 1, 1951 in Salt Lake City, UT to Blair Attridge and Eugenie Funkhouser, and was later adopted by his stepfather, Lew Mathe. He graduated from Hollywood High School in 1969 and continued on to Occidental College where he graduated with a degree in political science in 1973. A man of many talents and a jack-of-all-trades, Nick's career included the management of Rickie Lee Jones in her early career, sales, writing, computer consulting, and real estate. In the 1990s, he founded Eyecare Technologies magazine and more recently lent his expertise to the Bay Area real estate arena.
Nick was a proud father and grandfather, an All-American swimmer, Eagle Scout, triathlete, and animal lover. He enjoyed hiking, especially the Sierra Nevadas, collecting rocks and fossils, reading, photography, sports, and volunteering.
Nick is survived by his wife, Janet Iverson; daughters Monica, Amanda (Graham), Nicole (Ian), Natalie (Joshua), Isabel, and Phoebe; four grandsons; siblings Bonny Mathe Helms, Chris Mathe (Gayle), and Cathi Ascani (Ray); sister-in-law Lori Mathe, brother-in-law Brent Iverson, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Shane Mathe; and a granddaughter.
He will be missed and remembered dearly.
