

David Wayne Rushing, 68, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on May 23, 2026, in Ocala. Born on May 21, 1958, in Ocala, Florida, David lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, loyalty, and deep love for his family and friends.
David built a respected career as a Master Electrician and was well known for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic.
He was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast who loved the biker lifestyle, finding freedom and joy on the open road. Whether riding with friends or enjoying the journey alone, motorcycles were one of his greatest passions.
Those who knew David will remember his generous nature, quiet strength, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose presence brought comfort and strength to those around him.
David is survived by his loving wife, Victoria Rushing; his mother, Sheryl Lybert; his sisters, Donna Lane and Cathy Mendenwalt; his brother, James Rushing; his daughter, Jamie Blitch; his sons-in-law, David Blitch and Michael Gonzalez; and his cherished grandchildren, Isaiah, Nick, and Marissa. He is also survived by his brother Lester Fender, uncle Mike Rushing and step mother Barbara Rushing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Rushing, his son, Andy Smith, and grandmother Helen Helvenson.
David’s legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply and the many lives he touched throughout his years. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his dedication to his work, his love of gardening, and his passion for motorcycles and the biker life.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at the discretion of the family.
