Rita M. Akin

Rita M. Akin, 91, born in Chicago, recently of Palos Park, passed away on January 30 after a brief illness. Beloved wife of the late Frederick A. Akin; loving mother of Kathleen (Nick Edyvane) Akin, Barbara Akin and Frederick Jr. (Colleen F.) Akin; proud grandmother of Tonie Akin; devoted daughter of the late John and Katherine Komnatzke “Kamm”. Mrs. Akin worked for the Village of Oak Lawn for 20 years and was a volunteer at Christ Hospital until two years ago. Visitation Tuesday, February 8, 9am until time of funeral mass at 10am at Our Lady of the Woods Church, 10731 W. 131st Street, Orland Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
