Lorene Katherine (Bauer) Kremer, 96, died March 24, 2018 at St. Luke’s Neuroscience Hospital after having suffered a stroke and heart attack. A visitation service will be held 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Rosary at 7:30 pm, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 28th at St. Ann Catholic Church, 7231 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.
Lorene was born December 19, 1921 in Paris, AR, the oldest child of George and Rose (Koch) Bauer. She graduated from Paris High School in 1939. Sears Roebuck in Kansas City, MO was her first and only employer in three different states. Lorene moved her family to Kansas City, MO after the death of her father in 1941. She was united in marriage with Robert Kremer on November 22, 1952, who preceded her in death on August 11, 2007. Lorene was involved in church activities, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts while raising her two children. She returned to the work force with a catalog sales position with Sears Roebuck while living in Cedar Rapids, IA, Park Forest, IL and Overland Park, KS. She retired from Sears in 1984. After living ten years at Kenilworth Apartments, she became a resident of Brighton Gardens in Prairie Village, KS. Lorene enjoyed traveling, playing BINGO and spending time with her family, who will miss her stories she would tell which will always be treasured.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters, Dorothy Murtha, Jeanne Tackett-Letzig, Laverne Reinecker, Mary Frances Gross and brother, Bobby Bauer. Lorene is survived by her children, Kevin Kremer, Mission, KS and Michele Walsh (Mark), Bourbonnais, IL; sister, Georgiana Boyle; grandchildren, Mitchell Walsh (Megan) and Marcia Walsh-Aziz (Bilal); great grandchildren, Fiona and Brennan and many nieces and nephews.
