Ashley Nichole Alsup, age 33, tragically passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019, in Winter Park, FL. Born on December 30, 1985, to Michael and Deborah Alsup, Ashley attended Good Shepherd Catholic School and graduated from Oviedo High School in 2004.
Dancing from the early age of 2, She was formally trained in all forms of dance, at the Colby Center for Dance and Performing Arts, a Nationally Recognized Dance Studio, Ashley competed throughout the United States winning numerous awards and titles, such as Teen Miss Dance of Florida, and Miss Dance of Florida, Dance Masters of America, Chapter 2, and performed before, and with some of the most recognized dancers and ajudicators throughout the United States and Canada. Her technique was admired and commented on, by some of the best professionals in the dance world.
At the young age of 11, Ashley appeared in Dance Spirit Magazine a highly regarded dance publication, and was recognized by the Orlando Sentinel for her many dance accomplishments. Ashley danced for Walt Disney World, New Vision Cirque, and was hired immediately upon high school graduation by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines/Royal Caribbean Productions. Between contracts Ashley worked for Park Plaza Gardens. Ashley’s dance career took her throughout both Eastern, and Western Caribbean Islands, Bermuda, England, France, Kuwait and Dubai.
While dancing with Royal Caribbean, she also assumed the responsibility and title of Costume Mistress.
Ashley was well traveled, known and loved by all of her cast members for her endless work ethic and friendship. An infectious smile with a heart as “big as Texas”, Ashley never met a stranger and was loving and giving to all those in her path.
Competitive but supportive of her very own competition, she loved life and was truly the life of every event!
Ashley was born to dance! She danced from the heart, from an early age, and commanded every stage she stepped foot on.
Serious injuries sustained in a car accident, lead Ashley to years of therapy, treatment and finally being told by one of Orlando’s best orthopedic doctor’s, she would never dance professionally again. Feeling broken, depressed and worthless, Ashley’s life would be forever changed!
Ashley will be sadly missed by her parents, Michael and Deborah Alsup, husband Bryan, brother Tyler Anthony, Gabriella, her grandmothers, great grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins and all of the extended family and friends who loved her so much!
We will honor and celebrate her life on Saturday, December 14th @ the National Cremation Society,
