We are certain Dolly Ray Tallent VanWinkle is dancing with her Lord and Savior today on streets of gold. She decided to trade in her earthly body on Thursday July 2nd, 2020 for the beautiful and pain free eternal body the Lord promised her when she was officially adopted into his family around 13 years ago. For those who don’t know, Dolly’s earthly story took a supernatural turn in 2007 when she died in a Florida hospital while being treated for CHF. It was then her Lord decided to do something amazing and breathe a second round of life into her lungs, which led to the salvation of her own soul as well as several others in the hospital room with her that day. Dolly didn’t take her second chance lightly as she went back into the world with a renewed love for people, for God and for the life she was given back to keep living a little longer. When the Lord finally decided to take her home this July, it was only after an incredible amount of love, life and her favorite jewelry was able to be shared by her to all those fortunate enough to have crossed her path. Dolly, also known by all her grandkids, great grandkids and even church family as “Granny”, was born on October 22nd, 1931 in Rock Hill South Carolina to parents Cora Holder and Ernest Holder. Dolly spent most of her young, adult life as a Plant Supervisor at Dayron Corporation for over 20 years, later retiring to help her first husband John open and run Country Boys Produce in Orlando, Florida. She was preceded in death by siblings, Peggy Starnes, Lucielle Copper, Pete Holder, Hardy Holder and Miriam “Snooky”Smith. Granny was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Tallent, second husband, Lloyd VanWinkle, and three boys, Ronald Wayne Tallent, Jonny Ray Tallent and Roger Blair Tallent. Dolly is survived by her daughter Brenda J Kizer and husband Timothy, grandkids Gary Clemons and wife Sheila, Tiffany Clemons and Marcy Madrid and husband Carlos as well as several great grandchildren. She is also survived by stepchildren Tammy VanWinkle Hodgkins and husband Pat, Shane VanWinkle and wife Jackie and daughter in law Becky Talent.
