Barbara Elaine Edelman

Villages, FL-Barbara E. Edelman (nee Riley), loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, age 81 of the Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 10, 2020.

Barbara was born in Philadelphia, PA. on October 25, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Florence Riley and Thomas Riley.

In 1956 Barbara married her lasting love, Nicholas Edelman Jr., with whom she shared 64 years. They raised three children and taught them by example the values of faith, family, and friends. Barbara took pride in being a dedicated Mom, Gram, G-Mom, and watching her family grow.

Barbara and Nick shared a love for Wildwood Crest, NJ where they enjoy their second home. They welcomed family and friends to their home and enjoyed sharing their love of life. They retired to the Villages Florida, and continued to have the pleasure of making new friends, playing golf, playing cards, and riding around in their golf carts.

She is survived by her loving husband Nicholas Edelman Jr., and children Nicholas Edelman III (Wendy), William Edelman (Louise), Barbara Cunane, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

Services and a Celebration of Life are postponed. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Barbara Edelman’s memory to MD Anderson Cancer Center c/o The Cooper Foundation, 3 Cooper Plaza, Suite 500, Camden, NJ 08103 or online at https://foundation.cooperhealth.org/give-now-mda-cooper and select the Lung Cancer Fund.
