Balkrishna S. Mungee

Born in the princely town of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, on January 22nd, 1941, our father's journey has been inspirational. His journey is about resilience, hard work, honesty, endless love for others, and positivity beyond any limits.

He lost his mom as a child, so his childhood was full of struggle and challenges. He was born with a golden voice and a heart full of love, and both of his desires to become a singer or a doctor were unfulfilled due to circumstances. He went on instead to engineering school, followed by 35+ years of service in the Indian Railways, retiring as Divisional Engineer.

He filled the void of his mother's love by making sure that his two sons had the most loving, caring, and confident mother. Married on June 4th, 1964, to Rajeshree, mom and dad just completed 61 years of blissful companionship, spreading love and affection to everyone who came in their lives.

Though he never asked, it was only destiny that made Sunil, his elder son, become an accomplished singer, and Sudhir, his younger son, become a doctor. Now, he could cherish and live his unfulfilled dreams through his two sons. The void of a daughter in his life was aptly filled by his daughter-in-law, Megha Mungee, who he called 'Betu' (his own daughter).

His radiance, positivity, and enthusiasm had now found its expression in the next generation. His grandkids, Kushal and Shreya (kids of Sudhir), and Suna (daughter of Sunil), imbibed the cultural values, compassion, and selflessness from their grandfather.

In his over three decades of service in the Indian Railways, he excelled in every task, was a great leader, helped innumerable people, and gracefully retired with an unblemished and memorable career. He knew how to maintain relationships, make friends for life, and positively influence everyone who came in his life.

Papa, for us, you are a hero, an inspiration, a perfect gentleman, a legacy, a song, a life that is so deeply imprinted in our hearts that it will take more than one life to thank you. So, we pray, that you come back to us as our Papa again and again and ..............
