James "Jim" Wooster (also known as Doorah by his daughters), 68, of Pflugerville, Texas, passed away on September 9, 2024. Born on December 6, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend known for his vibrant personality and a multitude of talents.
Jim dedicated his life to his family, cherishing every moment spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Dolly Jenkins of Pflugerville; his children, Laura Wooster and her husband Philip Norman of Austin, Texas, and their daughter Lyla; Andrea Wooster of Denver, Colorado; Jonelle and her husband Chris Ellis of Magnolia, Texas, and their son Max; and Christian Brittingham of Ruston, Louisiana, and his son Reid. He also leaves behind his siblings, Ed and his wife Carter, Tommy and his wife Connie, Dennis, and his sister Debbie, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Terese “Seaton” Wooster and Dale Wooster, and his brother Bobby Wooster.
Jim's passions included woodworking, music, gardening, collecting, and storytelling. A master carpenter and cabinet maker, Jim was renowned for his skill in fixing all things and his keen eye for bargains. Jim was also an avid star gazer, a pastime that allowed him quiet moments of reflection under the night sky.
Jim’s personality was as vibrant as his professional skill set. His remarkable sense of humor and ability to make friends wherever he went left a lasting impact on everyone, including his doctors and nurses. Jim cherished his family above all, never missing a chance to gather for the annual Wooster family reunion every July 4th, creating lasting memories with his children and grandchildren. This is a testament to his role as a cornerstone within his family.
A celebration of Jim's life is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th, at his sister's home in Taylor. This gathering will honor his legacy as a loving family man, a master of his craft, and a friend to many. Jim's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to his family will forever be cherished and remembered, and although his presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
