Mrs. Mildred Bolding, 91 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Monday, February 18, 2020. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 20, 202 at 11:00 A.M. in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City with Rev. Boyd Cochran and Rev. Eric Hood officiating. Burial will follow at Newsome Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service.
Mrs. Bolding was born September 11, 1928 in Phenix City, Alabama; daughter of the late Ivy Benjamin and Rosie Bell Wade Newsome. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Golden Acres Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday School and played the piano. She presently attended Pierce Chapel Assembly of God Church. She was an avid historian a wonderful story teller and most of all loved her family.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Bolding, Sr., son, Perry Bolding, Jr., siblings, Ivy B. Newsome, Jr., Pauline Ganus, Betty Barth, George "Sonny" Newsome and Katie Newsome.
Survivors include her sons, Terry Bolding (Carol), Thomas Bolding and Bobby Bolding; grandchildren, Valerie Hood (Eric), Maria-Teresa Mendoza, great grandchildren, Eli Hood, Addie Hood, Elgin Kwong (Gabrielle), Tyrone Kwong (Jeena-Marie) and one great great grandchild, Camila Kwong. She also leaves behind sisters and brothers, Bessie Powers, Jerry Newsome, Toby Newsome, Scarbrough Newsome, Maxine Hunter, Sally Hout and many other family and friends.
