

Jo Ann Dunham, 92, passed from this life on January 6, 2020 at 2:36pm. Jo Ann was a resident of Leesam Individual Care Home in McKinney, Texas where she was loved and cared for like a family member.
Born Jo Ann Davidson on October 22, 1927 in Des Moines, IA, later moving to Sioux Falls, South Dakota
in her early teens. While in Sioux Falls, Jo Ann graduated from Washington High School and went on to
work as a dental hygienist. Also, it was during that time, she met Robert L. Dunham, her husband to be after he returned to Sioux Falls after WWII. They were married in 1947 and had two daughters from
their marriage Barbara Jo and Cynthia Sue.
Jo Ann, Robert and their two daughters moved to Altoona, IA 1959 until Robert was transferred by New
York Life Ins. Co. in 1962 to Chicago, IL. They lived in the suburb of Villa Park where Jo Ann sold Avon
for nearly 20 years, and baked wedding and other special occasions cakes. After they both retired, they moved to Renwick, IA to be closer to their extended families. They were married for 52 years before Robert passed away in February, 2000. In 2011 she moved to Texas to live nearer her daughter, Barbara.
Jo Ann was a devoted wife and mother and loved her family fiercely. She was a friend to all and Never knew a stranger. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was always active in her local United Methodist church (participating in Bible Studies and serving on various committees) until in her later years when she participated in services at the retirement homes where she lived.
Jo Ann is survived by two daughters, Barbara Hansen and husband Michael, Cynthia McNeilly and her
husband Andy. Five grandsons, Andrew Akerhielm, Christian McNeilly, Peter McNeilly, Alex McNeilly,
Scott Hansen, granddaughter, Lane Montgomery, 12 great-grandchildren, one great, great Granddaughter, a sister, Jane Painter and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert L. Dunham, a sister
Jean Schriever and a brother Jeri Webster and both of her parents.
A memorial service will be held graveside in Renwick, Iowa, later this summer.
