Wife of her beloved John Morris, who passed away in June 2020. Stepmother of Donna (predeceased), Lori (Mark Lague) and Dale Morris. "Gran" to Taylor, Sheldon, Ethan, Stefi, Anna, Lily and Luca. Survived by her brother, Skip Spinney, and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Seaward and Mary (nee Lawrence) Spinney, and sisters Rose Sawyer and Eunice Hoban.
Born in Acton, Massachusetts, Rita earned her Master's degree in Mathematics as a nun when she was a young woman. Opting for a new path, she came to Canada in July 1967 and landed a job at St. Thomas High School on the West Island as a Math teacher, where she remained throughout her career until retirement.
Her happiest times were spent playing with the grandkids when they were young, curling, golfing, camping, and travelling North America with her husband in their motor home. Rita will be forever remembered for her cooking, sewing, crafting and baking (especially those legendary lemon meringue pies).
May she rest in peace, reunited with her "love" and lifemate of 41 years, as she wished to be.

Visitation will take place at 11am on May 7th, follow by a celebration of life at 12pm at Collins Funeral Home in Pointe Claire, Québec.
