Larry William Nicklin went to be with Jesus on May 12, 2022, at 68 years old. When he passed, Larry was resting at home, surrounded with the love and care of his wife, Leeann, and their three daughters, Tanya, Candice, and Chelsea.
Born to Wilfred and Gwen Nicklin in Port Alberni, BC, on September 14, 1953, Larry was the youngest of four boys. He is survived by his brothers, Ray, Denny, Donny, and their families. Larry grew up, met Leeann, and raised his family in the Alberni Valley. He was known to many as a kind man, talented cook, and avid fisherman. In fact, Larry held many titles to the people he knew and loved, and he wore them all well: faithful husband, loving father, incredible papa, caring uncle, genuine friend, steadfast brother, kind neighbor, eager volunteer, animated storyteller, best hugger, and many more. Larry loved his family deeply and spoke highly of his friends; however, his greatest accomplishment was his faith in and love for Jesus Christ, which he gladly spent his life sharing with others. The legacy Larry leaves with his family is an example of Christ’s love for us all: a man who was patient, kind, not easily angered, and kept no record of wrong. Larry rejoiced in the truth, protected his family, never gave up hope, and always persevered.
Although he will be greatly missed, Larry’s memory will live on through his beloved wife of 46 years, Leeann; his three children, Tanya (Mike), Candice (Daniel), and Chelsea (Rob); his grandchildren, Morgan (Steven), Hunter, Connor, Emma, Matthew, Joelle, Rylan, Hudson, and Dawson; his great-grandchild, Evelyn; and all who came to know and love him. We find peace in knowing that Larry is resting – well, more likely laughing and dancing – with Jesus.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at Jericho Road Church (5100 Tebo Avenue, Port Alberni, BC) on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 1:00 PM. Light snacks and refreshments will be served. Please join us in celebrating the wonderful life and legacy of Larry Nicklin.
