Nicole Dalby, loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, granddaughter, daughter-in-law, niece, cousin, and dearest friend, passed away on November 19, 2019, in Regina, Saskatchewan, at the age of 35, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Nicole will be deeply missed by her loving husband of ten years, Drew King Dalby, and their young children Alex Jane and Marcus Kingston of Regina; devoted sister Stephanie and brother-in-law Ethan Mink of Regina; sisters Carley and Jodi Wood of Burnaby, BC; mother Shauna and stepfather Terry Willoughby, of Spruce Grove, AB; father Jeff Wood and stepmother Jackie, of Duncan, BC; maternal grandmother Edna Komarynsky, of Lethbridge, AB; paternal grandfather Jack Wood, of Kingston, ON; mother-in-law Karen King and her husband Marvin Simpson of BC; father-in-law Ken Dalby, of BC; sister-in-law Karly King Simpson, and brother-in-law Dana King Simpson of BC; stepsisters Olivia Willoughby, and Caitlin (Alon) Bar Nur of Edmonton, AB; aunt Maureen (John) McCrady of Lethbridge, AB, aunt Laura (Bob ) Strople of Oshawa, ON; uncles Alan (Cheryl) Komarynsky of Edmonton, AB, Kevin (Karen) Komarynsky of Beaumont, AB, Michael (Helen) Komarynsky of St Albert, AB, Michael (Brenda) Wood of Kingston, ON, and Brian Wood of Calgary, AB; and cousins in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario, Canada, and Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Nicole was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Nick Komarynsky, whom she was named after; paternal grandmother, Lola Wood; aunt Michelle (Brian) Wood; and step-grandmother, Gladys Willoughby.
Nicole Wood grew up in Spruce Grove, having attended school at Queen Street, Woodhaven, and graduating in 2002 from Spruce Grove Composite High School. Nicole’s helpful, loving nature, along with her genuine sincerity and dedication were beyond compare. She touched so many in her short life, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
