Helen June Killiane

Helen June Killiane (Atherton), age 92, of Rochester Hills went to be with her heavenly father on Mon Feb 10, 2020. June was the eldest of 8 children born to Orin and Caroline (Knapp) Atherton on Jan. 28, 1928 in Gaines, MI. She graduated from Roosevelt HS in Keego Harbor, class of 1946. June married Verne Dell Killiane on June 14, 1947. She was a beautician and homemaker. She and Verne raised their children in Keego Harbor before moving to Rochester Hills later in life. She sang in the Choir and was a deaconess at Five Points Community Church in Auburn Hills, MI. June loved to care for friends and family and was a wonderful cook. She loved our Lord and reading his word. She enjoyed all types of sewing and needlework, reading, receiving and writing letters, and never met a crossword puzzle she couldn’t master. We will miss her presence here on earth, but are thankful for her Christian life and the Lord’s promise that we will see her again. Proverbs 31:28, “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” June is survived by her four daughters, Martha (Mark) Gregg, Sharon Wreford Hubrich, Janine (Tim) Lambrecht, and Kelly (Colin) Clark; granddaughter, Laura (Raul) Lambaren; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin Collins, Jacob Collins and Hannah Lambaren; sister Margaret Merrill; brothers Dennis (Sandra) Atherton and Gerald Atherton; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Verne; and siblings Robert (Virginia) Atherton, Frances ‘Tootie’ (Frank) Haslip, Donna Sullivan See and George ‘Sonny’ Atherton. June’s family will welcome all for a visitation on Thurs Feb 13th from 2-7pm at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 W. University Dr in downtown Rochester. Funeral Fri Feb 14th at 11am, instate 10:30am at Pixley Funeral Home.
