Matthew Paul Egger

Funeral services for Matthew Paul Egger, 44, of Tampa, Florida will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church in Apollo Beach, Florida on Saturday, May 5, 2018 with the Pastor Jack R. Palzer officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Matt was born on May 2, 1973 in Toledo, Ohio and passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018. He received a degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Southern Florida. Matt spent 10 years as a Manager at Carsmetics, and was recently employed at Spectrum Cable in Tampa, Florida.

Matt moved to Tampa with his parents in 1997. He loved living near the water, and enjoyed many outdoor activities such as fishing, golf, running and especially riding his bike. He was an amazing cook and spent a lot of time with friends and family. Friends would describe Matt as highly competitive, always up for a game of pool, darts, bowling, or cards. Matt will be remembered as a beloved son and brother, loyal friend, and devoted husband and father.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Raymond William Egger and Ruth Anne Egger; maternal grandparents, Adam Daniel Grote and Marie Daisy Grote.

Survivors include Jodi Smyth Egger, mother of his daughter, Mya Lauren Egger; parents, Jerauld Christian Egger and Mary Ellen Egger; brother, James and wife, Wendy Egger; brother, Robert Egger; nieces, Meredith Egger, Sarah Jane Egger, Ruthie Egger; and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
