Juanita Faye Garrett

She attended the UT Medical Branch, Galveston where she met her husband David Garrett. They married on October 9, 1952. She then received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1953. She went on to work as an RN at UTMB Galveston and Baptist Memorial Hospital and she also trained nurses. Her and her husband had two children Bruce and Lisa and they were married for 56 years. She was a charter member of Parkhills Baptist Church where she faithfully served as Librarian from 1978-2008. She was a loving wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her son Bruce Garrett and her husband David Garrett.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Garrett.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Parkhills Baptist Church, 17747 San Pedro Ave. Dr. Robert Welch will officiate.

Flowers can be sent or memorial contributions may be made to Parkhills Baptist Church, School of Nursing, UTMB Galveston or Baptist Health Foundation of SA for the Bruce A. Garrett Medical Library at the Baptist School of Health Professions.
