2019 in San Diego, California. “Don” was born in San Francisco May 19, 1934 to Margaret and
William Madden. He graduated from high school in Sonoma, California then served in the
National Guard and the Navy, stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He was a lifelong
Californian who loved to cook and travel. He will be remembered for his quick sense of humor,
his love of animals and his culinary skills. Per Don’s request, his ashes will be scattered at sea
off the coast of the San Diego Bay. A small dinner gathering was held in his honor.
