AVIS DE DÉCÈS
Joseph C Viveiros
29 mars 1955 – 16 septembre 2020
Joseph Américo Carvalho Viveiros, of Hayward, CA, died on September 16, 2020 at the age of 65.
Joe or "Joe Mama" as many of his friends called him was born on March 29, 1955 in Santos, Brazil. His parents Américo De Viveiros and Sara Julia Carvalho migrated from Madeira Island Portugal to Brazil after they married. “Zezinho” treasured his childhood in Brazil especially with his cousin and partner in crime, Zita. Enjoying the beaches, hiding under the stairs and sneakily learning early to drive. After 11 years they welcomed his younger brother Silvio and proceeded to migrate to Oakland Ca when Joe was 11 years old. Joe attended Sunset High School and Chabot College in Hayward.
Joe worked with his parents in their family business, Guidos in Washington Manor, San Leandro for many years. He was an avid sports fan; devoted to the Raiders no matter where they were. He loved listening to music, especially Carlos Santana. If you were lucky to enjoy his cooking then you know that no one could cook a steak like Joe!
A beloved husband, father, son, nephew, uncle and cousin to so many. But most of all a loyal friend, who would do anything to help out a friend in need. He has been reunited in heaven with his mother Sara, his first love.
Joe is survived by his father Americo, his wife, Jackie Viveiros of Brazil; and their son Victor Americo Silva Viveiros (whom you could easily say is his pride and joy), and daughters from his first marriage; Andrea Sarah Viveiros and Alyson (Ben) Pomeroy, and younger brother Silvio (Ercilia) Viveiros. Joe is also the proud Grandfather of Twins Paulo Cabral Jr, Cierah Jordyn Cabral, Cheyenne Cabral, Taylor Cabral, Nathan Pomeroy, Dylan Pomeroy and very soon to join the family, baby Owen Pomeroy. He is an uncle to Felicia (Cory) Thurman, Anthony (Riley) Viveiros, and Great-uncle to Harper Deolinda Thurman.
To honor Joe’s wishes there will not be a traditional funeral service. A later date will be set for a celebration of life for his wife and children to hear of the wonderful memories of “Joe Mama.” In the coming weeks, Joe will be cremated and placed to rest beside his mother Sara at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, to honor his final wishes. A college fund has been set-up for his son Victor at Golden One Credit Union in lieu of flowers. Donations can be directly wired to Golden One Credit Union Routing # 321175261 Account # 2415496 for Member VASV.

My best memory of Joe was his kind heart. I have seen him loan his friends money, give them a ride, or just be there to listen. He will be missed by many. The world has lost a great man and Heaven has gained a wonderful man. Love you Joe. Telk your mom Hi for me.
