
Patrick J. Rimroth, age 60 died unexpectedly Sept. 11 in Arnsberg, Germany. Pat was born to George and Mary Rimroth on January 6, 1955 in Evansville, IN. He attended Purdue University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Biology. At Purdue, Pat was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, IEEE BME, and an outstanding NCAA swimmer.Pat has worked 35+ years in the medical field developing products that save, enhance or benefit millions of people every day. Pat worked at several medical companies during his career: Cordis Corp., (1979-1988), Bard Critical Care, (1989-1992), Camino Neurocare, (1994-1995). Symphonix, (1995-2001), Curon, (2001-2006), PneumRx ( 2006-2008). Since 2008, Pat has been General Manager at Mizuho OSI in Union City, CA. Pat made significant contributions to the medical field and received several patents during his career.Pat was very much involved in his son's lives, participating in Boy Scouts and being active in their outings. He also served as Treasurer for several years. He was always part of their sports, hobbies, and homework! Pat and his wife Connie enjoyed travelling, visiting local wineries with friends and working on their home together (always an endless work in progress). Pat was a giving, gracious, and loving person who was always there for his family, friends and co-workers. He could fix just about anything, whether it was electrical, mechanical or woodworking; however, plumbing and sprinklers were his nemesis. Pat is survived by his wife of 32 years Connie Rowland Rimroth, his two sons—Captain Matthew R. Rimroth, 28, who is currently on active duty in the US Army at Ft. Bragg, NC. and Trace A. Rimroth, 24, who is currently in graduate school at the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO. Pat is also survived by his mother Mary Rimroth who resides in Phoenix, AZ, his brother Michael Rimroth, and sisters, Carol Jackson, Mary Dugas, and Diane Deem. Pat was preceded in death by his father, George Rimroth.Pat's funeral will be held for the family on Saturday, September 19, 2015. A Memorial Service is planned for October 3, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of Almaden, 6581 Camden Ave, San Jose, CA 95120. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite charity in Pat's memory.
