Dorothy L. Larson

Dorothy L. Larson, age 94, former longtime resident of Highland, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2018. Dorothy was born May 28, 1923 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the late Manuel P. and Lillian (Carlson) Nordberg. Also preceding her in death were her loving husband of 59 years, Herman Larson, and her caring step-mother, Clara (Duckrow) Nordberg. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sharon (Jim) Dudzik, James (Kathy) Larson, William (Kristy) Larson, and Donna (Jon) Zaley; grandchildren, Mark and Brett Dudzik, Rachel, Juli and Zachary Larson, Lilly Larson, Nathan and Ben Zaley, brother and sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy and Herman raised their family in Highland, and were faithful members of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hammond. They both sang in the choir, and she volunteered her time putting together braille bibles. Her talents were playing the organ and the piano. She enjoyed bowling in various leagues over the years with her husband. Mostly she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and caretaker for her family. Visitation will be Monday, April 9, 2018 from 11:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 1:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave.; Crown Point, IN 46307).
