Mrs. Janet G. Gilberti

Devoted mother of Gianina Routhier of Abington, Maria Ricci and her husband Jonathan of Scituate, Enrico Gilberti, III and his wife Ines of Stamford, CT, Giovanna Sheehan and her husband Michael of Scituate and Antonio Gilberti and his wife Jeanette of Marshfield.

Cherished Gammy of 13 grandchildren: Ashley Onyskow, Mark Routhier, Leah Ricci, Jonathan Ricci, Enrico Gilberti, IV, Dante Gilberti, Francesca Gilberti, Darby Sheehan, Christopher Sheehan, Abigail Sheehan, Riley Sheehan, Jenny Gilberti and Jack Gilberti; and 2 great grandchildren: Owen Routhier and Camryn Onyskow.

Janet was a highly creative individual and her sense of style showed in everything she took part in. She was a prolific knitter of sweaters and clothing and delighted in making hooked and braided rugs of her own design. Janet loved to collect antiques with her husband, which created a bond that lasted throughout their entire life together. Gardening was a passion that had a calming influence on her. When acting as a homemaker, she cherished her family and friends and was a pied piper to her 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. They all loved being with her and learning all of life’s lessons. Janet’s friends ran the gamut of young and old and all bathed in the sunshine of her aura. Words cannot express how much we will miss her, but she will always be remembered. She will live on in our hearts forever.

Visiting hours will take place at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate on Tuesday March 29th from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral and burial to take place privately.
