

Mr. James R. Blanton, age 66, of Georgetown, Indiana returned to his Heavenly Father on June 19, 2014. Mr. Blanton was a machine operator for Gamble Brothers and retired from Anderson Woods Company. Mr. Blanton was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. Post and was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. Mr. Blanton was a deacon at Second Holy Baptist Church in Fairdale. Among those that preceded him in death include his parents, Orion and Ruth Blanton; brother-in-law, William Rose; sisters-in-law, Diane Winsatt and Sue Rose; and several aunts and uncles. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 48 years, Geneva "Jenny" Blanton; uncle, Clieve James; cousins, Jeanette Woodcock (Larry) and Mariam Singleton (Ricky); brothers-in-law, Ralph Rose (Jackie), Roger Rose (Susan) and Robert Winsatt; sisters-in-law, Judy Maynard (Joe), Patricia Rodgers (Roy) and Rhonda Rose; and a host of family and friends. He was not blessed with any children of his own but God blessed him with many nieces and nephews and their children and he loved each and every one of them as his own.
Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road; use John Harper entrance) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 1-8 pm at Schoppenhorst. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Second Holy Baptist Church (9806 Keys Ferry Rd. Fairdale, KY 40118).
