

Norridgewock – Beverly P. Merry, 84, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 11, 1933 in Skowhegan the daughter of Maurice C. Austin and Doris (Harvell) Austin Waye. At an early age she was adopted by her loving father Earl E. Waye who predeceased her on May 8, 1950.
She graduated from SAHS adult education, Class of 1971 and went on to take several college courses, completed CNA training and became a licensed social worker. She ran a paint paddle press at Solon Manufacturing for 9 ½ years before working for Catholic Charities of Maine for over 20 years.
Beverly was a member of the Fairfield Nazarene Church for 30 years before returning to her childhood church, Norridgewock Baptist Church in 1982. She was also a life member of the Norridgewock Historical Society. Beverly loved working with people and helping them, and she was especially fond of cats.
She was predeceased by infant son Earl on January 24, 1957; mother, Doris on July 10, 1987; siblings, Maurice Austin, Jr. and Iva Newell; and special friend Paul Currie.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Cheryll Merry of Norridgewock; sons, Joel Merry and wife Donna of West Bath and Christopher Merry of Norridgewock; grandchildren, Jennifer Iverson and husband Erik of North Attleboro, MA, Jonathan Merry of Dresden, and Cassandra Allen of Norridgewock; great grandson, Jakob Iverson and Gunnar Iverson; siblings, Richard Austin of Norridgewock and Annie Bundy of NH; many cousins; and dear friends Jenny and Mildred.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Beverly’s life at 12pm, Friday, July 7, at Norridgewock Baptist Church, 24 Main Street, Norridgewock. Visiting hours will be held from 10am until the start of the service. A time of refreshment and fellowship will immediately follow services at the church. Interment will be private.
