

She was born August 20, 1928, in Skowhegan, Maine, the daughter of Clayton and Doris (Paine) Eames.
Helen graduated from Skowhegan High School graduating in the class of 1946.
She married Moses Shaw in 1946 in Skowhegan, Maine, he passed away in 2001.
Helen was the assistant librarian from 1975 -1980, then becoming head librarian from 1980 to 2001.
She enjoyed playing cards, reading was a passion,and she loved her cats. She also loved traveling to Las Vegas and South Carolina where her sister Patty lived.
Helen is survived by her four children; Steve Shaw of Millinocket, Kathy Glova and her husband Jim of Pennsylvania, Tom Shaw and his wife Holly of Madison, Nancy Shaw of Massachusetts, seven grandchildren; Robbie, Michael, Scott, Brent, Lauren, Dana, Bodhi, one brother, Donald Eames of Norridgewock, one sister, Patty Ela and her husband David of South Carolina, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, her husband, her son David Shaw, one granddaughter Kristen Glova and one daughter-in-law Lynette Shaw.
A memorial service will be held on Monday January 6, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. Committal service will be held in the spring at the Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan, Maine.
