Sylvia B. Keyes

Sylvia was born July 25, 1950, the daughter of the late Richard and Rosa Brown in Craven County, North Carolina.

Sylvia graduated from Havelock High School, Havelock, North Carolina. Continuing her education at North Carolina Central University where she earned her Bachelor's in Education. She worked briefly for a school system in New York.

Sylvia spent many years residing in New Jersey later relocating to Georgia.

She joined in Holy Matrimony with Jimmie L. Keyes, and raised two beautiful daughters.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and her only sister (Joan Godette). Surviving to cherish their memories of a caring, compassionate and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend are her devoted husband Jimmie L. Keyes of Lithonia, Ga., two daughters, Shamika Keyes (Kerwin Timothy) of Newark, New Jersey and Hassana Keyes of Atlanta, Ga.; two step children Sherrie Keyes of New York and Jimmie L. Keyes, Jr. of Georgia; four brothers, Glenn Brown (Ida) of Durham, NC, Richard Brown of Durham, NC, Eric Brown of Hampton, Va., Milton Brown (Rita) of Havelock, NC; five grandchildren, Kermya (Newark, New Jersey), Jasmine, Jason, Joshua (Georgia) and Robert (New York), numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, a very close life-long childhood friend, Ann Williamson.
