Avis de décès
14 septembre 1942 – 8 novembre 2021
Wilson R. Morin, 79, of Southington, husband of Claire (Tonina) Morin, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 8, 2021 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Wilson was born on September 14, 1942 in Caribou, ME and was the son of the late Simeon and Clara (Damboise) Morin. Mr. Morin was the owner of Capitol Erectors of Southington and retired in 2000. Wilson was a selfless man and this showed through his many years as a member of the Kiwanis of Southington. He was a Past President and was an exemplary member, winning numerous awards for his charity work. Many people in need benefitted from his tireless giving. He was also a member of the Friendship Lodge #33 of Southington. However, his greatest accomplishment was his family, especially taking part in all their experiences and successes. His eyes and smile would light up a room at the mere mention of any one of them - his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was very much a part of their lives, from football to basketball games, gymnastics to cheerleading competitions, and attending parents’ weekend and college graduations - Wilson did it all. He didn’t miss a thing. He leaves behind a legacy of a life well lived. Besides his wife, Wilson is survived by his children, his daughter Heidi Driscoll and her husband Peter of Southington and by his son, Jason Morin and his wife Tracy of Glastonbury. He also is survived by his cherished grandchildren, Sean Popielarczyk, Sara Lambert and her husband Joseph, Brooke Morin and Alexa Morin. And just two weeks ago, Wilson met his new great-granddaughter, Miss Claire Rose Lambert. Wilson is also survived by his brother Simeon Morin and his wife Yolande and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by ten brothers and two sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial for Wilson will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 10:00 am at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St, Plantsville, CT 06479. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Wilson’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main St., Southington, CT 06489. In lieu of flowers, contribution in his memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS. 66675.
