Robert was born March 10, 1932 to Zella (Scott) Reser and Clarence
Hollister Reser in Chinook, Montana. He was later joined by sister, Helen
Lorraine (Reser) Blashill, and brother, Richard Blake Reser. Bob spent
his early school years in Chinook, MT and Williston, ND, and moved to
Spokane in 1946. He graduated from North Central High School in 1950,
where he met his future wife, Donna Lee (Pittman) Reser. Their romance
continued at Eastern Washington State College, and in California when
Bob was stationed at Camp Roberts with the U.S. Army and Donna Lee lived
in nearby Los Angeles with her parents. They returned to Spokane to be
married on September 26, 1953. Bob and Donna welcomed four children to
their family, Mary Jane (Janie) Melzer (Allan), Susan Gail Anderson
(Gene), Thomas Scott Reser (Patty), and David William Reser (Don Swope).
After Bob worked in the wholesale business for many years, they bought
Kee's Variety in 1972, near their home at the Ash & Rowan Shopping
Center. Bob would later work as a manager at the General Store in
Spokane. They enjoyed serving their community, supporting their kids in
the Shadle area schools, and their membership in the Shadle Park
Presbyterian Church. In retirement, Bob spent many years delivering
Meals on Wheels, was an active volunteer and board member for the
Westminster Food Bank, and enjoyed woodworking, camping, and golfing.
Bob enjoyed his large family and is survived by his four children, nine
grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He
was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Lee, parents Holley and
Zella Reser, sister, Helen Blashill and brother, Richard Reser. In lieu of
flowers, gifts may be made in Bob's honor to the Westminster Food Bank
or the Concern Fund via the Shadle Park Presbyterian Church (online or
at 5508 N. Alberta, Spokane, WA 99205), or a charity of one's choice. A
memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021, 2:00pm at Shadle Park Presbyterian Church.
