Frances was a very sweet lady and someone I always looked up to and respected. I worked for her at Opportunities, Inc. for many years and we had many talks in her office whether it was work related, family related or if I just needed someone to talk too. Opportunities has not been the same since she retired and it will never be. You will be greatly missed. Love you Frances and RIP sweet lady. 💜

God sends people into lives just at the right time and for the right purpose. That's exactly what He did for me when I became acquainted with Frances. I will never forget our visits where we shared tea, memories, hopes and dreams. One of her dreams was to have a rose garden at the intersection of Texas Blvd. and Arkansas Blvd. that would be continually maintained. I left Texarkana 5 years ago, so I don't know if her dream ever came to fruition to her satisfaction.
I've been blessed to have Frances in my life as my mentor and friend.
Here's a toast to a most gracious and compassionate lady!

I was sad to read about Mrs. Holcombe's passing. She as a special lady. Stay safe Tom.

Frances was a delightful combination of a gracious, determined, loving and feisty Southern lady. Meeting her through Friends of the Library was one of the best things that ever happened in my life. We spent many hours together sharing laughter, stories, and hard work. Her legacy of Opportunities was one of many reasons to remember her. My favorite recollection was her telling me, "Each morning I ask God to show me what he wants me to do today." Thanks, Frances, for wonderful words to live by. Peace be with you.

I worked with Mrs. Holcombe for many, many years. She was one of the most precious ladies I have ever known. I, for one, will miss her terribly. Prayers for her family and friends.
