Robert Jewett Hartranft, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2019. A resident of The Villages, FL since 2012, Bob fought a number of health issues over the past year yet never surrendered his trademark sense of humor. Bob enjoyed family, poker, sports, friends at the Lopez Legacy pool bar, and his beloved black lab, Midnight. Born in Flushing, NY in 1941, Bob’s family settled in Cleveland, OH in 1954 after a one-year stop in Chicago. Other than a short tenure in Windermere, FL during the 1990s, Cleveland was Bob’s home until his move to The Villages. He became a big fan of the Cleveland and Ohio State sports teams. Bob cherished his lifelong friendships with his fraternity brothers of Delta Sigma Phi at Ohio Northern University, several of whom retired to The Villages. Bob is survived by his children Bill, Nicole and Tracy; his grandchildren Morgan, Olivia and Cooper; and his brother, Paul.
