Paul Davis “PD” Embler, 93, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton.
“PD” was born in Davidson County on October 25, 1925 a son to Ray McKinley Embler and Fay Stout Embler. He owned and operated Embler’s Greenhouse, was a member of Colonial Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and a World War II Merchant Marine veteran. He was married to Helen Johnson Embler who preceded him in death in 2004. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Ricky and Randy Embler; daughter, Becky Rorex; and grandson, Corey Embler.
Surviving are two sons, Rusty Embler and wife Debbie, Paul Baldwin and wife Jan; sister, Nancy Patterson; four grandchildren, Ray Embler and wife Lora, Drew Rorex and wife Jenn, Matthew Rorex, Shauna Jarrett and husband Travis; and four great grandchildren.
A funeral service will held 2:00 pm Friday at Colonial Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Jarvis and Drew Rorex officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at Thomasville Funeral Home.
