Velma House Sadler

TUSCALOOSA - Velma House Sadler, age 92, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away February 26, 2018 at her residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with James Boyd and Gary Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Gaines Sadler; mother, Nora Elizabeth Stephens Gilbert; brother, J.C. Gilbert; and sister, Tavie Lee Gilbert Albright (Jack).

Survivors include her sister, Betty Traina (Pete); numerous nieces and nephews; and a multitude of dear friends.

Mrs. Sadler was a life-long resident of Tuscaloosa County. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are caregivers, Laura and Robert Albright, Christian Union Church, Peterson Community Church, Dr. and Mrs. Kumar and Brookwood High School Alumni Association.
