Richard Alan Mirante

Dick moved to Ventura in 1964 and attended Ventura College. Following his arrival, Dick met and married Janice (McMillan) Mirante. He was drafted into the United States Army soon after and sent to serve his country in Vietnam; leaving his new bride in Ventura. Following his discharge, Dick returned to Ventura and joined the Carpenters Union, Local 150. He was employed as a carpenter for various companies until his retirement in 2007.

Richard regularly attended Bible Fellowship Church in Ventura and was a member of the Saticoy Senior Men’s Golf Club. Dick and Janice loved to travel, visiting numerous countries including Australia, China Italy and throughout the United States. His other passions included dining out and working in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward. Richard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janice; mother, Lois Dugan; sons, Steven, Robert and Rob’s wife, Dawna; step-son, Tommy; and three brothers, Mark, Denny, Paul and Paul’s wife Linda.

A memorial service for Dick will be held at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 2:00 P.M.
