Born in Beechville, Nova Scotia she is the daughter of the late William Earl and Patricia Marie (Thomas) Dorrington. Dorothy move to Montreal 61 years ago and married the love of her life the late Robert (Bobby) Williams and that is where they started and raised their family.
Nova Scotia was always home as they would visit every summer, as a seafood lover having a good meal was also a draw to come home to visit.
Dorothy had a deep love and commitment for her family. She enjoyed reading, cooking and was a dedicated viewer of Coronation Street. She had a smile that would warm your heart and love to joke and tease to make you laugh till your belly hurt. Her funny stories and nicknames she had for everyone made you wonder why she never took the stage or did more with this talent as it bought so much joy to everyone.
She had a passion for children and always had a child on her lap or hugged in her arms. Dorothy and her late husband Robert were foster parents for many years, she was known as “Mom” to so many on the South Shore of Montreal, as she cooked and fed half of the South Shore and opened her home to all.
She was a loving mother and mentor to her children and the children in her neighborhood.
One of Dorothy’s proudest moments was when her daughter became a teacher and her granddaughter a lawyer. She worked at Royal Victoria Hospital in the 80's, Dominion lock, Fulford Residence Nursing home and private care homes, and caregiver for many. She was a Nanny to many children over the years and to Carl Sutton Jr., Caroline Sutton , Erica Sutton Alexis Iverson and Adam Iversen, spoke often of you all, and loved you all dearly. Dorothy's love for Nova Scotia returned her back home for three years, dedication and love for her family returned her back to Montreal until God called her home.
