Mrs. Cassidy was preceded in death by her husband Frank P. Cassidy, a daughter Ruth Jones and a great grandchild Channing.
Bernadine's career in retail management included J.M. Fields, Leggett and Dillards!
A long-time volunteer, Mrs. Cassidy served as a volunteer with Hope Haven Senior Home, The Virginia Aquarium and enjoyed bowling and dancing. She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.
Survivors include four children, Fred Deets and wife Sarah, Douglas Deets, Thomas Cassidy and wife Rachel and Carol Laginess and husband John; and son-in-law Nicholas Jones, thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild; three sisters, Catherine Schweizer, Frances Moriarty and Mary Ann Lawson.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 8, 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Virginia Aquarium, 717 General Booth Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23451.
The family would like to acknowledge the loving care provided by Dr. Radkar and the Staff at Virginia Oncology and Freda H. Gordon Hospice and Palliative Care.
