Jennie Blasko moved to Michigan with her family in 1925 and would attend the Detroit Public Schools. After her schooling she went to work and eventually married John Blasko. She and John settled in Warren in 1950. Jennie worked and retired from Chrysler Motors. When she was not working she loved the outdoors she enjoyed gardening, fishing, and especially small game hunting for rabbit and pheasant with family members. Her nephew remembers rabbit hunting with Aunt Jennie, when she slipped and fell into the snow, not knowing she packed the barrel of her rifle. When she took her shot at the rabbit, her barrel exploded, but after a quick hacksaw remedy she was back to hunting. She also enjoyed knitting and traveling with her husband or playing pinochle with members of the Holy Name Parish. A strong woman, but also an elegant and selfless woman who always put others first. Jennie was very intelligent, a problem solver and also bi-lingual speaking English and Polish. She could be tough as nails, but was also very domestic and refined, being remembered as an excellent cook, baker, and hosting the Polish Christmas Wigilia meal. Visitation for Jennie will be Sunday from 2-9 pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile), with a Rosary Sunday at 8:15 pm.
