against cancer. She is now reunited with Rod, her husband of 54 years and grandson, River.
Born in Detroit, Judy was the first child of Mildred and Arthur Blank. She attended Ladywood
High School going on to earn her Masters in Social Work from Wayne State University. Judy
went on to work as a Social Worker for Wayne Westland Schools until she retired in 2003
Judy and Rod loved to travel, taking many trips throughout North America and the world.
However, it was Aruba that they would return to year after year. Even Rod's devastating stroke
20 years ago was not enough to quench their wanderlust. It was Judys refusal to let that stroke
cripple their lives that she may be most remembered for. Her devotion to Rod was an
inspiration to all who knew them and gave him a quality of life that was exceptional under the
circumstances. Besides travel Judy was also a fan of the theater and could often be found
down at the Fisher where she was a member and patron of the arts.
Judy is survived by her two children, Craig and Julie, and her grandchildren; Taylor, Zach,
Corbin, Hayley, Canyon, Mezi and Bree. Also her siblings; Dianne, Randy, Lori and their
families including numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in honor of Judy when it is safe to do so.
