Julia Knepper

Julia (Atwood) Knepper passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin, OH. She was 72. Born in Guantanamo City, Cuba. Julia was married for 54 years to Dwight E Knepper, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her Parents Max Eugene Atwood and Mercedes Naranjo Herroutte.

Julia arrived to the US in 1960 and became a naturalized US citizen in 1967. She attended Job Corp to be a Beautician. She was a resident of Elyria, OH for the past 50 years. Julia was a homemaker and devoted mother. Her passions were dancing, listening to all music. She was a big fan of the Laurence Welk show and watching the Weather Channel and Animal Planet Channel. She would play her harmonica and enjoyed playing dominoes with family and friends.

She is survived by Her Husband Dwight Eldon Knepper Jr. and her children, Dwayne E. Knepper (Stephanie) , Julie Ann Mencev (Vasil), Jody L. Knepper, Mary L. Loughlin (Charles), and Crystal L. Knepper and her grandchildren, Quincey (Elsa), T’Neil , Jordyn, India, Maximus, and Lily. Great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Mila Rose. She is also survived by one sister, Donna Hoak, and three brothers the late Henry Atwood, David Atwood, and Wayne Atwood.
