Born November 16, 1931 to the late Percy and Hazel Virginia Rozas in Charleston South Carolina. John, as he liked to be known by, was a graduate of Poly Tech High School in Long Beach, California, received an Associates Degree in Arts from Long Beach City College, and went on to receive his Masters in Public Health from UCLA.
A veteran of this country , John served in both the Air Force and Naval reserves. from June 1951 through February 1969.
John met his future wife Dorothy, of 61 years on a blind date with his sister. John and his late wife were married February 2, 1957 in Lakewood California.
John enjoyed flying in his earlier years and building model airplanes. He loved spending time with his family and ensured a yearly family vacation. He also enjoyed his rose garden that he attended to meticulously. He and his late wife enjoyed traveling, especially to the Hawaiian islands. John also enjoyed singing and was a member in the vocal Group Village Voices.
John is survived by his three children, Juli Ann Chowan (Stephen), Cindy Ellen Presser (James), and John Warren Rozas ( Dröfn Ösp Snorradóttir -Rozas). Also survived by is sisters Marilyn Jacqueline Walker (Kenneth), and Debra Jean Hurdle, his brother in law Howard Emmanuel (Mary),and sister in law Sandra Rozas. Preceded in death by his loving brother Donald William Rozas, sister in law Janet Frances Burany and brother in law John Walter Hurdle.
He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren Sydney Hannah Rozas(Chris), John Charles Patterson (Dawn), Alex Garrett Presser(Rita), Robert Michael Patterson(Rachael), Adam Joseph Presser, Chloe Aurora Arenas, Francesca Love Arenas, and his nieces and nephews.
