Rose A. (Berardino) Gray

Rose A. (Berardino) Gray, 101, of West Hartford, formerly of Hartford, died October 18, 2015. Rose was born in Hartford, the beloved wife of the late David T. Gray, Sr., and daughter of the late Carmine and Marie (Cioto) DiBerardino. She worked for the Hartford Board of Education, Travelers, Underwood Olivetti, and thirty years with the Veterans Administration. She was a member of Barry Square Seniors, South End Seniors and former president of St. Augustine’s Rosary Society. She loved acting, singing, dancing, and bowling. She leaves nieces, Mary Guerra, Marie Vitale, Verna Thompson, and Gail Lesandrine; nephews, Carmen and Charles Berardino and Louis Gerundo; step-granddaughters, Carol Boulch, Tracey Miller, and Michelle Mooren; step-grandson, Christopher Savage; many grandnieces, grandnephews, greatnieces, and greatnephews, especially her close supporting grandnieces, Susan Ledder and Wendy Benanti; and many wonderful friends. She was predeceased by three sisters: Aurelia (Julia) Zambrello, Philomena (Minnie) Oppelt, and Anne Gerundo; five brothers: Oscar Majorie and Gabriel, Frank, Charles, and Nicholas Berardino. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (October 24) at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Friends may call on Saturday prior to the Mass, from 9:15-10:15 a.m., at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
