Dodie was born December 25, 1935, to her parents, Thomas Anderson and Clara Marie Taylor in Denver, Colorado.
She graduated from Westminster High School in 1953. Dodie went on to have three sons, Daniel Paul, Thomas James, and Joseph Kenneth Persichetti.
Dodie had a special relationship with each of her sons, offering them guidance, reassurance, and unconditional love. She built up their confidence and helped them find their way through difficult times.
She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great granddaughter. She embraced the challenges of being a single mother, raising her sons to become productive adults with children of their own.
She passed on her love of music to Thom, surprising him with a guitar and lessons. Never asking him to stop practicing, even though he liked to play loud. A gift he treasures today.
She passed on her love of animals to Joe, allowing him to keep any stray he brought home. He loved that she was confident and always trusted her advice.
She passed on her perseverance and work ethic to Dan. Knowing he loved working on the farm, she would arrange time for him after school and on weekends to go to the farm and work.
She had several jobs over her life outside of motherhood, ending her career at the University of Colorado at Boulder as a Program Assistant/Operations Manager. Upon retiring from CU she obtained her CNA license, working part-time in home health care. After leaving home health care, she went on to become a Stephan Minister.
Dodie always wanted to be in service to others in some manner, even after retirement. Working with others to help them meet their needs was very important to her.
In her free time, she liked to travel with her cousin across the country, spend time with her family, needlework, watching the Broncos and taking care of her dogs.
Dodie was precluded in death by her parents; Thomas and Clara Taylor and grandson; Thomas James Persichetti Jr. She is survived by her son’s; Daniel, Thomas Sr. (Kay), Joseph (Karen), 5 grandchildren; Chris (Stacey); Toby-Lynn, Julie (Brett), Jason, Dakota; 3 Great grandchildren, Taryn (Lars), Austin, and McKenna; 1 great-great grandchild, Rylynn; sister; Jeanne Davis.
