Odell D. Ratliff, age 86, of White Lake and Lake Placid, Florida; passed away on December 10, 2010. Mr. Ratliff proudly served in the US Air Force and was a long time member of the VFW Post #4156 in White Lake and the Elks Club in Lake Placid, Florida. He enjoyed golfing and hunting. Beloved husband of 63 years to Rosemary; dear father of Susan (Gil Slaw) Carl, Kathy (John) Bubnes, the late John (Carolyn) Ratliff, the late Steven Ratliff, Paulette (Lee) Ratliff-Miller, Thomas (Maureen) Ratliff, Janet (William) Jones, Marcia (Richard) Williams, Mark (Lory) Ratliff; proud grandfather and great-grandfather of many. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated, Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 9086 Hutchins Road, White Lake. The visitation hours will be on Tuesday from 3 until 8 p.m. at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake. Mr. Ratliff will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass; Interment will be at Oxbow Lakeside Cemetery, along with military honors.
