Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Tuesday June 27, 2023 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview. Funeral Service Will be held at 10 AM Wednesday June 28, 2023 at Faith Baptist Church of Wichita Falls with burial to follow in Crestview Cemetery.

Mrs. Lucas was born November 13, 1941 in Henrietta, TX to John Veryl and Exer Ann (Estes) Gulley. She married James Weldon Cook June 10, 1961 until his passing in 2003, she then married Stanley Lucas on March 19, 2015. She retired from Wichita Falls ISD as a Teachers Aid. Prior to that she worked as a telephone operator, worked as a gift wrapper at McClurkans, she volunteered at the hospital for United Regional. Her favorite thing to do was to quilt for people who were sick as a member of the Faith Baptist Quilters.

Survivors include, husband, Stanley Lucas; 2 sons, James Kevin Cook and wife Wendy, and Kyle Wayne Cook and wife Christi; 5 grandchildren, Lindsey Gilbert and husband Westin, Lauren Preston and husband Colby, Colton Cook and wife Kyann, Cody Cook and fiancé Sydney Janda, and Beau Cook and wife Bailey; 9 great grandchildren, Jackson Gilbert, Kase Preston, Evangeline Cook, Collins Gilbert, Avery Preston, Teddy Cook, Landry Preston, Shea Cook, Nora Cook; 2 sisters, Virginia Shaver and husband Bobby, Joan Vicars and husband Harold.
