Gary Dean Colchin, passed away quietly, Sunday December 2, 2018, with family members present. Gary was loved by everyone he met and never met a person he couldn’t be a friend with. Although challenged by a handicap caused by illness at an early age, Gary supported himself his entire life without assistance. He was a graduate of Southeast Wichita High School and worked 36 years as a custodian for Homestead Health Center in South Wichita. He adored his nieces and nephews who all loved him. Gary was also very fond of Jerry and Cindy Rogers and Mike and Ruby Riddle, with whom he resided most of his adult life. Gary is preceded by both parents, Leonard Francis Colchin and Gwendolyn Marie Forssee and 1 nephew, Joe. He is survived by 3 brothers, Don (Sherri) Colchin of Montgomery, Texas, Rod (Maria) Colchin of Garden Plain, Kansas, and Mark (Rita) Colchin of Hastings, Minnesota; and 7 nieces and nephews, Kim, Rosalyn, Mary, Tina, Roger, Eric, and Chrissy. A casual gathering in his honor will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
