He is preceded in death by his parents, Harriet and Joseph Kuppich, Sr. Joe was born and raised in Fargo, N.D. where he played baseball at NDSU before being commissioned as a second Lt. in the US Army.
Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 30 years and completed two tours in Vietnam receiving the Purple Heart, several Air Medals for Flight in Combat, Meritorious Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, and Bronze Stars.
A member of St. Bede Catholic Church, he enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and taking the boys fishing and canoeing. Joe was a member of Crown Colony, the VA Aeronautical Historical Society, and the 114th Army Aviation Company Association.
Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice; son, Joe Kuppich (Nancy); daughters, Susan Schevenius (Dave), Laura Lantz (TJ) and Karen Tussing (Jon); ten grandchildren; 1 great grandson; five brothers; and five sisters.
A service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 29th at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Rd., Williamsburg, Virginia.
Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date to be determined.
